Dear readers, my plan was to post on the 20th, but overtaken by the beauty and charm of The Season, I published the post below as well. I plan to return on Christmas and New Year's. Extending my warm Holiday Wishes to you all. ~ Anitra
Hello, hello. You definitely have strong intuitive powers.
I'm glad you like the Holiday lights. Festive is the perfect word. No, they're not on my porch, but on the porch of a house in the foothills. It's a modest house with beautiful landscaping. During the day, the lanterns are simply white.
Once again, thank you for your kind words. I want to send my good wishes to you and your family as well.
As always, Jonathan, lovely to hear from you. Sincerely, ~ Aneet
Thank you for sharing this Christmas gift with us. While yes, this is an extremely hectic time of year and we often don't have much time for ourselves, it's important to "stop and smell the Christmas tree" in this case. Your beautiful photos and descriptions capture the spirit of the season so well.
I hope the season is treating you well and that you've been able to take some time out of your busy schedule to give yourself some Christmas treats.
Those are such great words: "To stop and smell the Christmas tree." Truly memorable. In fact, inspired. I think we could all follow your advice.
Now, if I could figure out how to do that while I'm running in circles, I'd have it made. Actually, I am going to heed your advice Joseph. I think I'll begin to include some ten-minute vacations.
I surely hope the season is treating you kindly. From the sound of your words, my guess is, that it is.
I must say a quick something about this photo. To me this picture is more than a simple porch with some colorful lights on it. I see a deeper meaning, the spherical lights represent to me, spirits floating around their house enjoying a peaceful night on the porch. I truly believe that a picture is worth a thousand words and I thank you so much for capturing this lovely image. I hope you have a wonderful night!
Thank you so much for sharing your impressions with us. Sometimes we don't realize what we're thinking until someone says it outloud. I really enjoyed your sense of spirits.I too felt that these spheres communicated something more universal. Their abstract simplicity and pure round shapes, as well as the sense of depth in the window reflection, to me conveys expansiveness, and as you said, peace. I see something very kind and inclusive in them.
The colored globes reminded me of the "tree man" who would set up racks of pine trees in an empty lot in my old neighborhood when I was kid. It was illuminated with strands of multi-colored spherical "patio lights", which transformed a grey city lot into a Christmas oasis. We'd play among the trees, pretending to be in a fragrant pine forest in the Great North somewhere. To this day, the scent of pine brings it all back so vividly.
Thank you for describing your wonderful memory and for sharing the scene so perfectly. Now I too will remember it. Your "tree man" created a beautiful oasis that brought joy to so many.

Great shot of those festive lights. Is that your porch?
Hope the holiday is treating you and your family well!
